The idea of self-improvement (while also being interconnected with "self-love") isn't the best because both are interconnected on capitalist realism, including layers and layers of ableism (and especially the over-labelling beneficial and detrimental relationships, neurotypical and abled social norms, etc. as "healthy/unhealthy" is becoming frankly tiring, annoying and overrated), because on one hand, it overemphasizes too much on one's self (because one can focus on themself on their own time and with their own experiences of what they're dealing with, i.e., mental health, trying to fight a rather fucked up society that wasn't made for them, systemic discrimination, etc.) instead of creating a realistic balance (no I won't say "healthy" balance because as stated earlier, labelling something good as "healthy" is becoming fucking annoying at this point) with both self-care and collective healing (including to actually fight for social justice) being in the big picture.
